Welcoming Spring with Intention
The days are stretching a little longer, the air is getting warmer, and that means my second-favorite season is almost here! I’m a Fall girlie at heart, but Spring is, in my opinion, the most refreshing time of year. After months of cold weather and all-around blandness, the bright colors and breezy days of Spring are much needed.
Spring is a time of renewal, growth, and transformation in the world. It’s also the perfect time for you to refresh, reconnect, and reflect.
Refresh Your Space
Pull back the curtains, open the windows, and let fresh air and natural light fill your home. You’ve heard me say it before, fresh air is the best air. Let that fresh air put a spring in your step and get some organizing and decluttering done.
Clean out the junk drawer (I know you have one, we all do)
Switch out heavy throw blankets for lighter ones
Sort through your closet for any clothes you haven’t worn in a while and consider donating them
While you’re there, reorganize your clothes so warm-weather clothing is easily accessible and winter essentials are tucked away
Add fresh flowers or new plants to brighten up your space
Reconnect with Nature
After being stuck indoors for what feels like years, now’s the time to reconnect with nature.
Go for a nice, long walk outdoors and enjoy the budding flowers and chirping birds. (Don’t forget to take allergy meds beforehand!)
Start a flower garden, or if you already have one, get rid of any weeds that grew in over the winter and prepare it for all the spring florals
Take a trip to your local farmers market and incorporate fresh, seasonal foods into your meal plans
Reflect on Your Intentions
If you set New Year’s resolutions or intentions, now’s a great time to look at the progress you’ve made toward achieving those goals or incorporating your intentions into everyday life. Are you happy with your progress? If the answer is yes, great! If not, take some time to evaluate your goals or intentions and where you can make some changes in your approach to achieving them. And hey, if you need to start over, that’s okay! I’m basically starting over here, myself.
I believe that Spring is the true start to the year. So let the bright and breezy days inspire you to change things up a bit with a little refresh, ground yourself by connecting with nature, and reflect on where you’re at in the year compared to where you want to go. The world is a bit of a mess right now, but don’t worry, brighter days are coming.
